Electronic anti-theft system

Note:

The convenience anti-theft system does not function in the Golf Convertible, as these vehicles are not fitted with a suitable dash panel insert.

All radios are equipped with an electronic anti-theft system.

The electronic anti-theft system is activated and blocks the radio unit as soon as

  • ◆ Voltage supply (terminal 30) drops below a predetermined voltage level.
  • ◆ The radio part fuse is blown.
  • ◆ The radio unit is disconnected from voltage supply (terminal 30) (e.g. when removing radio unit).
  • ◆ The vehicle battery (terminal 30) has been disconnected in order that work on the vehicle can be carried out.

A radio unit which has been blocked by the electronic anti-theft system is shown when "SAFE" and "1000" appears in the display when switching the unit on.
