Service interval display

Function

The service interval display electronics is comprised of, amongst other items:

  • ◆ a time recorder

and

  • ◆ a distance recorder.

The electronics evaluates both recorders so that the customer is informed

  • ◆ after a predetermined time period is exceeded or
  • ◆ after a predetermined distance is reached

via the service interval display that a service is required (according to whichever occurs first).

The display appears for a few seconds after switching on the ignition in place of the mileage display in the odometer.

If no service is necessary IN 00 will be displayed.

If a service is due, the following appears in the display for a few seconds even after starting the engine:

OEL

(Engine oil change) or

IN 01

(Inspection service every 12 months) or

IN 02

(Inspection service every 30,000 km/20,000 miles)

After a service has been carried out, each service affected must be called-up individually and zeroed. If e.g. the inspection service IN 02 is carried out, OEL, IN 01 and IN 02 must be zeroed.
