Removing:

• ‒ Remove drivers' side dash panel trim

• ‒ Pull 6 pin and 10 pin connectors off anti-theft alarm system control unit (J 284), located behind assembly carrier on left A pillar

Only for vehicles with cruise control system:

• ‒ Pull 12 pin connector off cruise control system control unit (J 213), located behind assembly carrier on left A pillar

Note:

On vehicles with cruise control system, the anti-theft alarm system control unit (J 284) and the cruise control system control unit (J 213) are secured to the same retaining plate.

• ‒ → Remove hexagon nut -1-, on assembly carrier, by left A pillar
• ‒ Pull retaining plate locking lugs out from assembly carrier and pull retaining plate with control unit out from behind assembly carrier
• ‒ Remove control unit securing bolts from retaining plate

Installing:

Install in reverse order.
