Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Pedal depressor
Procedure
–  Hook accelerator cable into accelerator pedal and quadrant on throttle valve control module.
–  Pull off retaining clip for accelerator cable.
–  Depress accelerator pedal to full throttle position.
  Note
Use a second mechanic or depress accelerator pedal using a pedal depressor supported against the steering wheel.
Vehicles with manual gearbox
–  Adjust accelerator cable by moving the retainer at the support bracket, so that the full throttle position is attained at the throttle valve control module.
Vehicles with automatic gearbox
–  Adjust accelerator cable by moving the retainer at the support bracket, so that the full throttle position is attained and the kick-down switch clicks audibly.
–  Release accelerator pedal or remove pedal depressor.
–  Check idling speed and full throttle stops on throttle valve after adjusting.
