Bevel box to manual gearbox; always renew bolts40 Nm + 45°

Flexible joint with heat shield to bevel box flange
Installing bevel box/engine carrier free of tension
–  If present, install turbocharger bracket → Rep. gr.21.
   
Vehicles through 09.00
When installing bevel box carrier, observe following sequence:
–  Screw in all bolts hand-tight.
–  Tighten bolts -B- and -C- first to 10 Nm.
–  Tighten bolts -A- to 45 Nm.
–  Tighten bolts -B- and -C- to 40 Nm.

Vehicles from 10.00
When installing bevel box carrier, observe following sequence:
–  Screw in all bolts hand-tight.
–  Tighten bolts -B- (M10 x 22) and bolt -C- (M8 x 22) first to 10 Nm.
–  Tighten bolts -A- (M10 x 45) to 50 Nm.
–  Tighten bolts -B- to 40 Nm.
–  Tighten bolt -C- to 25 Nm.
