Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Refractometer -T10007-
t  Drip tray -V.A.G 1306- or drip tray for workshop hoist -VAS 6208-
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331- (5...50 Nm)
t  Assembly tool for spring-type clips -VAS 5024- or spring-type clip pliers -VAS 5024A-

Removing
  Note
t  Always renew seals and gaskets.
t  The lower part of the toothed belt guard need not be removed.
t  The toothed belt remains on the crankshaft toothed belt pulley.
t  Cover toothed belt with a cloth to protect it from coolant before removing coolant pump.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Remove poly V-belt tensioning element.
–  Remove toothed belt guard upper and centre parts.
–  Release toothed belt tensioning roller and take toothed belt off coolant pump toothed belt pulley.
   
–  Unscrew coolant pump securing bolts -1- and remove coolant pump -2-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, note the following:
  A19-0084
–  Moisten new O-ring -3- with coolant.
–  Fit coolant pump -2-. Installation position: plug in housing faces downwards.
–  Tighten securing bolts -1-. Specified torque: 15 Nm
–  Install toothed belt and adjust valve timing → Chapter.
–  Install poly V-belt tensioning element. Specified torque: 25 Nm
–  Install poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Replenish coolant → Chapter.
