Removing
–  Remove upper toothed belt guard.
   
–  Set camshaft toothed belt pulley to TDC No. 1 cylinder by turning crankshaft. Marking on camshaft toothed belt pulley must align with mark on cylinder head cover.
–  Remove toothed belt from camshaft pulley → Chapter.
–  Turn crankshaft back slightly.
–  Remove camshaft pulley. When loosening camshaft pulley, hold with counterhold tool -3036-.

–  To guide oil seal extractor -2085-, screw camshaft pulley securing bolt -arrow- into camshaft onto stop by hand.
–  Screw inner part of oil seal extractor -2085- two turns (approx. 3 mm) out of outer part and lock with knurled screw.

–  Lubricate threaded head of oil seal extractor -2085-, place it in position and exerting firm pressure, screw it as far as possible into oil seal.
–  Loosen knurled screw and turn inner part against camshaft until the oil seal is pulled out.
Installing
  Note
Gradual introduction of PTFE seals (polytetrafluoroethylene) Characteristics: no coil spring, wider sealing lip. The sealing lip of this oil seal must not be additionally oiled or greased. A older design radial shaft seal (with coil spring) may be replaced by a PTFE seal, but not the other way around.
–  Remove oil residue from camshaft journal using a clean cloth.

–  Fit fitting tool -T10071/1- onto camshaft journal.
–  Slide oil seal over guide sleeve onto camshaft journal.
  N15-0436
–  Press seal in to stop using assembly tool -T10071/3-. Use assembly tool -T10071/4- for this.
Further assembly is basically the reverse of the dismantling procedure.
Installing toothed belt and adjusting timing → Chapter.
