Removing
   
–  Turn crankshaft in engine DOR at securing bolt of vibration damper to TDC no. 1 cylinder marking -arrow-.
–  Remove cylinder head cover → Chapter.
–  Remove camshaft timing chain tensioner.
–  Remove cover part.
–  Loosen securing bolts for camshaft chain sprockets.

Counterhold camshaft using AF 24 mm open-jaw spanner only -arrow-. The camshaft bar -3268- must not be fitted when chain sprockets are loosened or tightened.
–  Remove camshaft chain sprockets.

Removing bearing caps of camshaft cylinder bank 1, 3 and 5 and camshaft cylinder bank 2 and 4
The following applies for long camshaft:
–  First remove bearing cap 1.
–  Loosen bearing caps 3 and 5 alternately and diagonally.
The following applies for short camshaft:
–  First remove bearing cap 4.
–  Loosen bearing caps 2 and 6 slowly.
