–  Insert thrust plate-1- as shown in figure.
1 - Thrust plate -E-39-; position the thrust plate so that it lies completely on the bolt heads -2-.

–  Install centring ring with clip -E-76-2-.
1 - Hollow piston cylinder -HKZ-15- with hydraulic thrust piece -E-0-204-T-
2 - Centring ring with clip. -E-76-2-
  Note
Place engine and gearbox jack -V.A.G 1383/A- underneath (danger of accident due to falling parts when wheel hub is pressed out).

–  Assemble bell-1-, hollow piston cylinder-2- with pull rod-3- and special nut-4-.
1 - Bell -E-40-
2 - Hollow piston cylinder -HKZ-15-
3 - Pull rod -E-0-217-
4 - Special nut -E-8-214-
5 - High-pressure hose with quick-release coupling
6 - Thrust plate -E-39-
–  Build up pressure with foot-operated pump.
–  Now check that all tools are correctly centred.
–  Press wheel hub out of wheel bearing by pumping.
