Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1332-
t  Engine and gearbox jack -V.A.G 1383 A-
t  Suspension strut clamp -V.A.G 1752/1-
t  Spring retainer -V.A.G 1752/7-
t  Spring retainer -V.A.G 1752/15-
t  Tensioning strap -T10038-
t  Support -T10149-

The spring retainer -V.A.G 1752/15- has been developed especially for 4 Motion vehicles. This enables safe removal and installation of springs.
Very great forces are applied when springs are compressed. Therefore, carefully follow the safety instructions below.
  WARNING
t  Ensure that the spring retainers are as close as possible to the spring coils.
t  Check that the spring retainers are properly seated on the spring coils while compressing the spring.
t  Do not use impact wrenches.
Securing vehicle to lifting platform
If the vehicle is not strapped down, there is a danger that the vehicle will slip off the lifting platform!
   
–  Remove plugs from longitudinal member -3- and draw in tensioning strap.
1 - Lifting platform arm
2 - Tensioning strap -T10038-
 - The vehicle must be strapped down with the tensioning strap on its left and right sides.
