Installing > < Removing and installing vane pump, vehicles with high-mounted vane pump

–  Remove noise insulation.
  A48-0110
–  Loosen belt pulley Allen head bolt.
Counterhold with a hexagon key if necessary.
  A48-0118
–  Turn tensioner in -direction of arrow- to relieve tension in poly V-belt.
For clarity of illustration, the relieving of belt pulley tension is shown with the charge air pipe removed.
–  Mark direction of rotation of poly V-belt.
–  Remove poly V-belt.
–  Unscrew belt pulley Allen head bolt.
Removing suction pipe and suction hose

–  Loosen spring-type clips -1-, -2- and -3-.

–  Remove suction hose -A-.
Remove suction pipe.
We recommend that the flexible pliers from tool set -VAS 5024- be used to remove the lower spring-type clip for the suction pipe.
–  Unclip all electric cables and hoses.
–  Loosen spring-type clip -1- with flexible pliers.

–  Remove suction pipe -B-.
  N48-0556
–  Clamp off suction hose with hose clamps -3094-.
–  Open spring-type clip -3- and pull off suction hose.
To do this, use installation tool for spring-type clips -VAS 5024-

–  Clamp off return hose with hose clamps -3094-.
–  Remove banjo bolt -2-.
–  Seal pressure line using plastic bag or suitable alternative.

–  Remove hexagon bolts -1- and -2-.
–  Remove pump.
