Deactivating electronic anti-theft system
A blocked radio unit can only be returned to normal operation by entering the correct code number for the electronic anti-theft system.
  Note
t  The code number for the electronic anti-theft system along with the unit number are stuck on the radio card → Operating manual.
t  The radio card should not be kept in the vehicle for security reasons. If necessary, ask the customer for the code number.
t  If a radio unit is replaced, the code number of the replacement radio must be used.
t  The customer must be informed that the code number has changed.
t  If the code card for the anti-theft code is misplaced or lost and the code is not available, obtain correct code by contacting “Call-Centre Volkswagen Individual”, telephone No.: +49-1805-052151. Have the vehicle chassis number, customer data and radio unit serial number to hand. The serial number is stamped on the housing of the radio unit.
–  Obtain code number for unit.
–  Switch radio unit on.
The unit automatically displays “Enter Code Number”. There is no need to operate any buttons.
–  Use multifunction buttons 1 to 7 to enter the code number stuck onto the radio card. Use the first key to enter the first code number, the second key to enter the second code number and so on.
The radio will automatically switch to normal mode when the 5th digit has been entered and the code has been entered correctly.
When the ignition key is removed the LED located top centre in the unit will flash if the code number has been entered correctly into the radio unit. The electronic anti-theft system is active.
