Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Torque screwdriver -V.A.G 1624-

Note

On vehicles from November 2005, a setting element is installed with which the flushness to the bumper cover can be adjusted. From November 2005, only tail lights are offered that feature this setting element. Therefore, it is necessary when installing a new light to fit an adapter so that the difference to the panel can be compensated for. This adapter cannot be adjusted.

–	Remove old tail light → Chapter.

–	The adapter is fitted to the area marked in the illustration.

–	Install the adapter -2- to the new tail light -1- as shown in the illustration.

–	Tighten securing nut -3- to specified torque → Chapter.

–	Install new tail light → Chapter.
