Installing > < Removing and installing left trim panel on driver side

  Note
For greater clarity the steering wheel is not shown in figure, there is no requirement to remove the steering wheel.
–  Switch off ignition.
–  Remove dash panel end trim on driver side → Chapter.
–  Push rotary light switch forwards, turn clockwise until it is vertical and then pull it out and separate wiring harness.
–  Release steering column gap cover from dash panel → Chapter. There is no need to remove the complete steering column trim.
Golf 2009 ►
–  Remove dash panel insert → Electrical system; Rep. gr.90. No need to disconnect wiring harness.
All vehicles
   
–  Pull storage compartment -1- out of mountings.
–  Remove the two bolts -2- (1.5 Nm).
–  Remove the two bolts -3- (1.5 Nm).
–  Unscrew bolt -4- (1.5 Nm).
–  Release trim from dash panel and disconnect wiring harness from headlight range control element.
