Removing head restraint guides
Removing head restraint guides
  Note
t  The backrest cover must be partially removed to remove the head restraint guides.
t  For greater clarity, the head restraint guides are shown removed.
–  Attach seat repair stand -VAS 6136- to engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095-.
–  Remove front seat → Chapter.
–  Secure seat to seat repair stand -VAS 6136-.
–  Remove right front seat trim → Chapter.
Vehicles with manually adjustable seat
–  Remove left side trim on seat → Chapter.
Vehicles with electrically adjustable seat
–  Remove left side trim on electrically adjustable seat → Chapter.
All vehicles
–  Remove front seat backrest → Chapter.
–  Secure backrest to seat repair stand -VAS 6136-.
–  Detach cover from backrest until bottoms of head restraint guides are accessible → Chapter
   
–  Reach into backrest frame and actuate catch -arrow A- of head restraint guide with button -1-.
–  Pull head restraint with button out of backrest.
–  Reach into backrest frame and operate locking device -arrow B- of head restraint guide -2-.
–  Pull head restraint out of backrest.
