Removing and installing oil pump, engine codes CBAA, CBAB, CBAC, CBBA, CBBB
  Caution
Finding metal shavings or a large quantity of small metal particles during engine repair could indicate that the crankshaft bearings or conrod bearings are damaged. To avoid any subsequent damage, the following work must be carried out following the repair:
Thoroughly clean oil channels.
Renew oil cooler
Renew oil filter element
   
Removing
–  Remove sump → Chapter.
–  Remove circlip -1- using circlip pliers.
–  Screw in a M3 bolt -2- and pull drive shaft out of oil pump -arrow-.
–  Unscrew bolt -4- and pull intake connecting pipe off oil pump.
–  Remove bolts -3- and -5- and remove oil pump.
  Caution
Bolt on intermediate gear wheel must not be loosened.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

t  Renew O-ring.
t  Renew damaged or over-tensioned circlip.
t  Circlip must lie in base of groove.
–  Ensure both dowel sleeves are in place before installing oil pump.
–  Install sump → Chapter.
