Assembly overview - particulate filter with NOx storage catalytic converter, engine code CJAA
1 - Exhaust gas pressure sensor 1 -G450-
q   Bolted close to oil filling point.
2 - Heat shield
q   Renew if damaged.
3 - 8 Nm
4 - 4 Nm
5 - Control pipe
q   Check for secure seating.
q   From exhaust gas recirculation housing → Item.
6 - 10 Nm
7 - Shield
q   Note installation position.
8 - Lambda probe -G39-, 52 Nm
q   Use Lambda probe open ring spanner set -3337- to loosen and tighten.
q   Grease only the threads with high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-; high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3- must not get into the slots of probe body.
9 - Seal
q   Renew.
10 - Securing clamp, 7 Nm
q   Renew.
q   Note installation position → Chapter.
11 - From turbocharger
q   → Item
12 - Exhaust gas temperature sender 4 -G648-, 45 Nm
q   Mark installation position before removing.
q   Grease only thread with high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-.
q   Routing wiring → Chapter.
13 - Seal
q   Renew.
q   Installing → Fig..
14 - Securing clamp, 7 Nm
q   Renew.
q   Note installation position → Fig..
15 - To exhaust flap control unit -J883-
q   → Item
16 - Lambda probe after catalytic converter -G130-, 52 Nm
q   Use Lambda probe open ring spanner set -3337- to loosen and tighten.
q   Grease only the threads with high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-; high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3- must not get into the slots of probe body.
q   Routing wiring → Chapter.
17 - NOx storage catalytic converter
  Caution
Danger of damaging decoupling element between particulate filter and NOx storage catalytic converter. When removing and installing:
t  Do not bend decoupling element more than 10°.
t  Install decoupling element so that it is not under tension.
t  Take care not to damage wire mesh on decoupling element.
t  The decoupling element must be secured with transportation lock -T10404- to stop overstretching.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
18 - Securing clamp, 7 Nm
q   Renew.
q   Note installation position → Chapter.
19 - Seal
q   Renew.
20 - 25 Nm
21 - Mounting
q   Install so that component is not under tension.
22 - From exhaust gas recirculation filter
q   → Item
23 - Securing clamp, 3.5 Nm
q   Renew.
q   Note installation position → Chapter.
24 - Exhaust gas temperature sender 2 -G448-, 45 Nm
q   Note installation position → Chapter.
q   Grease only thread with high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-.
25 - Exhaust gas temperature sender 3 -G495-, 45 Nm
q   Note installation position → Chapter.
q   Grease only thread with high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-.
26 - 23 Nm
27 - 23 Nm
28 - Bracket
q   Note installation position.
q   For particulate filter.
q   Bolted to cylinder block.
q   Install so that component is not under tension.
29 - Particulate filter
  Caution
Danger of damaging decoupling element between particulate filter and NOx storage catalytic converter. When removing and installing:
t  Do not bend decoupling element more than 10°.
t  Install decoupling element so that it is not under tension.
t  Take care not to damage wire mesh on decoupling element.
t  The decoupling element must be secured with transportation lock -T10404- to stop overstretching.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   After renewing, adaptation of ash mass comparison must be set to „0“ → Vehicle diagnostic tester„Guided functions“.
30 - Control line, 45 Nm
q   Do not attempt to bend control line to a different shape.
q   Install so that component is not under tension.
31 - 9 Nm
32 - Bracket
q   For control line
q   Install so that component is not under tension.
33 - Bracket
q   Note installation position.
q   For particulate filter.
q   Bolted to cylinder head.
q   Install so that component is not under tension.
34 - 23 Nm
35 - Differential pressure sender -G505-
q   Bolted to bracket of supplementary fuel pump -V393- or fuel pump 2 -V277-
