  Caution
When installing a new short engine, it is compulsory to fix and tighten the clamping jaws of the injectors with the specified torque after installing the high-pressure lines → Chapter. Clamping jaws are only secured »hand-tight« for setting the injectors while installing high-pressure lines. Non-observance of these notes may lead to damage to engine.
   
1 - Gasket
q   Renew if damaged or leaking.
2 - Cylinder head cover
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
3 - O-ring
q   Renew.
4 - Hose
q   For crankcase ventilation.
q   Press release buttons to remove.
5 - Sealing bushing
q   For fuel rail.
q   Renew if damaged or leaking.
6 - Bracket
q   For electrical cables.
7 - Grommet
8 - Clamping piece
9 - 8 Nm
10 - High-pressure accumulator (fuel rail)
q   Observe rules for cleanliness → Chapter.
q   Do not attempt to reshape high-pressure lines.
q   Installing high-pressure lines → Chapter.
11 - 22 Nm
12 - 8 Nm + turn 180° further.
q   Renew.
13 - Fuel return line
14 - O-ring
q   Renew.
15 - Injector
q   Observe rules for cleanliness → Chapter.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
16 - O-ring
q   Renew.
17 - Heat shield seal
q   Renew.
18 - Seal
q   For injector.
q   Renewing → Chapter.
19 - Cap
20 - Gasket
q   For cap.
21 - Grommet
22 - Bracket
q   For electrical cables.
23 - Bolt
q   Renew seal if damaged
q   Specified torque and tightening sequence → Fig..

   
Cylinder head cover - tightening torque and sequence
–  Tighten bolts for cylinder head cover in the sequence -1 … 6- to 9 Nm.
