Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Oil pressure tester -V.A.G 1342-
  W00-0516
t  Voltage tester -V.A.G 1527B-
  W00-0513
t  Auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C-
Procedure
l  Oil level OK.
l  Engine oil temperature approx. 80°C
–  Remove oil pressure switch -F1- → Chapter.

–  Connect oil pressure tester -V.A.G 1342- to hole for oil pressure switch.
–  Screw oil pressure switch -F1--item 2- into hole in oil pressure tester.
–  Connect brown line -1- of oil pressure tester to earth (–).
–  Connect voltage tester -V.A.G 1527B- to battery positive (+) and oil pressure switch -F1- using auxiliary cable from auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C-.
l  LED should not light up.
  Note
If LED lights up now, renew oil pressure switch -F1-.
–  Start engine.
  Note
Observe the oil pressure tester and LED while starting, since the switching point of the oil pressure switch may already be exceeded when starting.
l  LED should light up at 0.3…0.6 bar.
–  If LED does not light up, replace oil pressure switch -F1- → Chapter.
