Removing and installing throttle valve moduleJ338
Removing and installing throttle valve module -J338-
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench (4 … 20 Nm) -V.A.G 1410-
  W00-0554
t  Hose clip pliers -VAS 6340-
Removing
–  Unscrew bolts -1- and remove retaining clip.

–  Pull connector -2- off charge air pressure sender -G31- with intake air temperature sender 2 -G299-.
–  Unlock catches in -direction of arrow- and pull pressure pipe -3- first off throttle valve module -J338- and then off turbocharger.

–  Pull connector -1- off throttle valve module -J338-.
–  Unscrew securing bolts -2- and remove throttle valve module -3- from intake manifold.
Installing
–  Place new sealing ring into groove in intake manifold.

–  Position throttle valve module -3- together with adapter -2- and securing bolts -1- on intake manifold -4-.
  N24-10432
–  Tighten securing bolts -2- to 7 Nm.
–  Fit connector -1- onto throttle valve module -3-.
  Note
Before installing, lightly coat O-rings on turbocharger and in pressure pipe with engine oil.
–  Fit pressure pipe -3- onto turbocharger.
  N24-10626
–  Press pressure pipe -3- onto throttle valve module.
Retaining clips must engage audibly.
–  Tighten bolts -1- of retaining clips to 7 Nm.
–  Push connector -2- onto charge air pressure sender -G31- with intake air temperature sender 2 -G299-.
If a new throttle valve module was installed:
–  Erase learnt values and adapt engine control unit -J623- to throttle valve module → Vehicle diagnostic tester„Guided functions“.
