Removing and installing radiator (Golf Plus, Eos, Scirocco, Golf, Touran, Golf Cabriolet)
   
Removing and installing radiator (Golf Plus, Eos, Scirocco, Golf, Touran, Golf Cabriolet)
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Refractometer -T10007-
t  Hose clip pliers -VAS 6340-
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-

Removing
–  Remove air filter → Chapter.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Pull coolant hoses off radiator.
–  Pull connectors off thermal switch and radiator fan.
–  Remove cowling together with radiator fans downwards → Chapter.
–  Remove radiator securing bolts and remove radiator with fan downwards.
  Note
To prevent damage to condenser or to refrigerant lines and hoses, ensure that lines and hoses are not stretched, kinked or bent.
–  Unbolt retaining clamp for refrigerant lines.
–  Unbolt condenser from radiator and secure to lock carrier.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, note the following:
Filling with new coolant → Chapter.
–  Electrical connections and routing → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
