Safety precautions
To prevent injuries to persons and/or damage to the injection and ignition system, the following must be observed:
t  Do not touch or pull off ignition wiring when engine is running or turning at starter speed.
t  Switch off ignition before connecting or disconnecting injection and ignition system wiring as well as test instrument cables.
t  If the engine is to be turned at starter speed without starting
–  Remove fuses for injectors and ignition transformer from fuse holder. Fuse assignment → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
Observe following if test and measuring instruments are required during a test drive:
t  Test and measuring instruments must always be secured to the rear seat and operated by a second person from this location.
If test and measuring instruments are operated from front passenger seat and the vehicle is involved in an accident, there is a possibility that the person sitting in this seat may receive serious injuries when the airbag is triggered.
–  To complete the work, erase the engine control unit's fault memory. Removing the fuse creates a fault → vehicle diagnosis tester, “Guided functions”.
