Removing and installing intake manifold lower part, engine codes BSE, BSF, CCSA, CMXA
Removing and installing intake manifold lower part, engine codes BSE, BSF, CCSA, CMXA
  Note
t  Always follow safety precautions → Chapter.
t  Observe rules for cleanliness → Chapter.
t  The fuel line remains connected.
Removing:
–  Remove engine cover.
   
–  Pull connector -1- off secondary air pump motor.
–  Remove hoses -2- and -3- from secondary air pump motor.
–  Pull oil dipstick with guide funnel off guide tube and off bracket for secondary air pump.

–  Unscrew bracket with secondary air pump motor from intake manifold -arrows-.

–  Unscrew bolts from fuel rail and separate spreader rivets of cable guide on fuel rail -arrows-.

–  Remove all other bolts -arrows- from intake manifold lower part to cylinder head.
–  Now carefully press apart both tabs on upper part of intake manifold and pull off lower part of intake manifold forwards. Remove fuel rail with injectors from lower part of intake manifold at the same time.

–  Loosen cable guide from fuel rail, evenly pull fuel rail together with injectors off intake manifold lower part -arrows- and place it on a clean cloth in the engine compartment.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, note the following:
–  Renew seals between intake manifold and cylinder head.
–  Renew seals between injector and intake manifold and moisten slightly with clean engine oil.
–  Position fuel rail together with injectors against intake manifold and press into place evenly.
–  Ensure proper seating of seals between intake manifold upper and lower parts.
  Note
t  After replacing components of injection system, erase learnt values in engine control unit → vehicle diagnosis tester “Guided fault finding”.
t  Secure all hose connections with hose clips which conform to production standard.
