Power unit > 4-cylinder injection engine (1.8 and 2.0 l engine, chain drive) > Engine cylinder head, valve gear > Chain drive > Camshaft timing chain - exploded view

Camshaft timing chain - exploded view
1 - Bolt
q   9 Nm
2 - Chain tensioner
q   Exerts spring pressure
q   Depending on model, secure with locking pin -T40011- or locking pin -T40267-.
3 - Tensioning rail for timing chain
4 - Guide pins
q   20 Nm
5 - Bolt
q   9 Nm
6 - Timing valve
q   Left-hand thread.
q   35 Nm
q   Remove with assembly tool -T10352-
q   Engine codes CCZA, CCZB, CCZC, CCZD, CDAA, CDAB: use assembly tool -T10352/1- to remove
7 - Bolt
q   Renew.
q   M6: 8 Nm + turn 90° further
q   M8: 20 Nm + turn 90° further.
8 - Washer
9 - Bearing saddle
10 - Guide rail for camshaft timing chain
11 - Camshaft housing
12 - Camshaft timing chain
q   Before removing, mark running direction with paint.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
13 - Guide rail for camshaft timing chain
14 - Guide pins
q   20 Nm
15 - Chain sprocket
q   Crankshaft
q   Installation position → Fig..

l  The two sections -arrows- must be aligned.
