Removing and installing alarm hornH12
Removing and installing alarm horn -H12-
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Drill -VAS 5134-
  Note
The anti-theft alarm must be deactivated → Chapter before removing the alarm horn.
Removing:
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
–  Remove front right wheel housing liner → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.66.

–  Use drill -VAS 5134- and a drill bit to drill out the heads of both pop rivets -arrows-.

–  Release connector -1- by opening the cover -2- using a small screwdriver and remove the alarm horn -H12--3- from the wheel housing.

–  Remove pop rivet residues -arrow- from body holes.
Installing:
  Note
Remove from vehicle all metal swarf and pop rivet residues produced by drilling.
–  Perform necessary corrosion protection measures → Rep. gr.Allgemeine Hinweise.
–  Connect connector to alarm horn -H12-.
  Note
For reasons of clarity, the alarm horn -H12- is not shown in the following illustration, therefore the connector is shown disconnected.

–  Guide clip -2- of alarm horn -H12- into aperture in body -1-.
–  Secure alarm horn -H12- using new pop rivets.
–  Install front right wheel housing liner → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.66.
