Adjusting headlight installation position
Adjusting headlight installation position
  Note
t  To adjust the installation position of the headlight, the front bumper does not have to be removed.
t  The illustrations show the left headlight.
If it transpires during checking of the installation position that the shut lines/gaps between headlight and body are uneven, the installation position must be adjusted.
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
–  Remove the radiator grille → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.66.
   
–  Loosen securing bolt -2- on rear of headlight.

–  Loosen the three securing bolts -arrows-.

–  Loosen securing bolt -arrow- on lower part of headlight.

–  Adjust shut lines/gaps to body by pushing in or pulling out alignment bush -arrow- on headlight.
–  Tighten threaded connection to torque specified in assembly overview → Chapter.
–  Check and, if necessary, readjust headlight to ensure gaps are even all round.
–  Install radiator grille → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.66.
–  Check headlight functions.
  Note
If a headlight is removed or adjusted to fit more accurately to the vehicle body, it must be aligned following such measures.
