Removing and installing trailer detector control unitJ345
Removing and installing trailer detector control unit -J345-
The trailer detector control unit -J345- is located behind the left side panel trim in the luggage compartment.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1783-
Removing:
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
–  Remove left side panel trim from luggage compartment → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.

–  Release connectors -2- and disconnect them from trailer detector control unit -J345-.
  Note
The number of connectors at the trailer detector control unit -J345- may differ from the illustration, depending on vehicle equipment.
–  Remove securing bolts -1- and take trailer detector control unit -J345- together with bracket out of vehicle.

–  Remove securing bolts -arrows- and detach trailer detector control unit -J345- from bracket.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing observe the following:

Following installation, a new trailer detector control unit -J345- must be encoded → Chapter.
