Ignition Switch Key Lock Solenoid
The ignition switch key lock solenoid must be mounted next to the ignition switch.
‹› To remove key on a vehicle with a DSG transmission, move the selector lever into P and then switch off the ignition. Otherwise, ignition switch
key lock solenoid prevents the key from being removed!
Removing:

Remove steering column trim.

Release locking device - 2 - using a suitable screwdriver.

Pull Ignition Key Removal Lock Solenoid - 1 - in direction of arrow out of its mount.

During this, harness connector is simultaneously disconnected.
Installing:

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
‹› After connecting the battery, activate the ignition switch key lock solenoid by performing an output diagnostic test.
