On vehicles through 10.05 production, alignment of rear light assembly to bumper cover is not possible.

-

On vehicles from 11.05 production, check and align rear light assembly relative to bumper cover.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque Screwdriver VAG 1624 (or locally available equivalent)

NOTE:  Replacement rear light assemblies may or may not be available as originally installed in production. As a result, it may be necessary to install
replacement rear light housing using a non-adjustable adapter that ensures proper fit between the body and the rear light (adapter takes up space due to
different housing configuration). In these cases, use the following procedure:

Remove rear light.

Adapter mounts to area indicated by -arrow-.

-

Install adapter -2- to replacement rear light housing -1- as illustrated.

Install and tighten screw -3- to specified tightening torque:

Install rear light.
