Remove mounting bolts of ignition coil.

-

Remove ignition coil with power output stage vertically from spark plug.

Note the following when installing the ignition coils:

Replace ignition coil seal if damaged.

-

Push ignition coil by hand vertically onto spark plug.

-

Tighten securing bolts of ignition coil to 10 Nm.

-

Erase DTC memory of Engine Control Module (ECM). Diagnostic mode 4: Reset/erase diagnostic data.

-

Generate readiness code.

Work procedure (vehicles with engine code AWP, AWV, BKF, BNU)

Disconnect corresponding 4-pin connectors -2- from the ignition coils -1-

NOTE:  Before disconnecting harness connectors, mark allocation to component.

Remove ignition coil with power output stage vertically from spark plug using puller T40039.

Note the following when installing the ignition coils:

-

Replace ignition coil sealing ring if damaged.

-

Push ignition coil by hand vertically onto spark plug.

-

Erase DTC memory of Engine Control Module (ECM). Diagnostic mode 4: Reset/erase diagnostic data.

-

Generate readiness code.
