Coolant pump, removing and installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Refractometer T10007

Drip tray V.A.G 1306

^

Torque wrench V.A.G 1331

^

Spring-type clip pliers VAS5024

Note:
^

Always replace seals and gaskets.

^

The lower part of the toothed belt guard can remain installed.

^

The toothed belt remains in position on the crankshaft toothed belt pulley.

^

Cover toothed belt with a cloth to protect it from coolant before removing coolant pump.

Removing

-

Drain coolant.

-

Remove ribbed belt.

-

Remove tensioning element for poly V-belt.

-

Remove upper and middle part of toothed belt guard.

-

Relieve tension on toothed belt and take toothed belt off coolant pump toothed belt pulley Toothed belt, removing, installing and tensioning.
