Pry off plug securing cap (arrow) with a screwdriver.
Note: The cap locking device will be damaged when removing the cap, therefore always replace the cap

Pull plug out of filler pipe.

Fill with ATF using VAG 1924 until ATF runs out of control hole.
CAUTION! An insufficient filling with ATF as well as filling to excess affects the function of the transmission.

Tighten ATF control plug (arrow -1-) (installed with a new seal) to 27 Nm. This completes ATF topping off procedure.
Note: The ATF control plug must be reinstalled at the latest before the temperature reaches 45°C[1]. If necessary, allow the transmission to cool
down and repeat the check.
[1] 50°C for hot climates

Switch ignition off.
