Clamp suction hose using 3094 hose clamp.

-

Place drip tray underneath.

-

Disconnect bracket for pump pressure line from cylinder block.

-

Disconnect pump pressure line.

-

Install adapter -1- (use seal).
1. VAG1402/1 A
2. VAG1402/6 adapter hose

-

Connect VAG1402 pressure gauge.
1. VAG1402 pressure gauge
2. VAG1402/6 adapter hose
3. Banjo bolt
4. Pressure hose banjo union
5. VAG1402/2 adapter set
6. Hose from VAG 1402 pressure gauge

-

Remove 3094 hose clamps from suction and return hoses.

-

Start engine and if necessary add fluid to reservoir.

-

Turn steering wheel approximately 10 times from lock-to-lock.

-

Check delivery pressure.

Test requirements 
-

Ribbed belt and ribbed belt tension OK

-

System not leaking

-

Hoses/lines are not kinked or restricted

-

With engine running at idle speed, close cut-off valve (not longer than 5 seconds) and read off pressure.

Specifications 
-

Gasoline engines: 85 - 95 bar (1233 - 1378 psi)
