On seats with seat heating, press out contacts of backrest heater from connector in seat frame and pull out cable from seat frame.

Remove cover and padding for front seat part with height adjustment → Chapter.
Remove base structure
–
Release securing clips of felt trim from seat base.

Remove cross-head screws -2-, remove bearing clamp -3- and spring -4- and pull out operating lever -1- for longitudinal seat adjustment backwards from bearing bush.

Adjust tilt angle so that springs -1- have minimum tension.
–
Unhook springs -1- on base structure of seat -arrows- and remove.
Press tilt lever -2- outwards -arrows- and pull off from inner axis -3- of base structure.

Take off spring -1- and circlip -2- from tilt adjustment mechanism.

Remove circlip -1- on outer side of seat and push tilt adjustment control shaft -2- inwards and remove.

Unscrew securing bolts of tilt adjustment on left -1- and right -2- (opposite on right seat).

Lever out front securing point -1- on tilt adjustment mechanism (fixed sleeve with collar) and slide tilt adjustment shaft -2- backwards in parallel motion -arrow- until rear securing point -3- is pushed out from guide.
Note
If necessary, parallel sliding of tilt adjustment can be encouraged by lightly striking with hammer.

Remove base structure with tilt adjustment
Remove height adjustment cable
–
Remove springs -1- on left and right height adjustment mechanism.

Lever out retaining lugs -2- on cable eyelets -3- and unhook cable eyelets.

Unscrew lock nut -1- of cable tensioning device and pull out threaded sleeve -2- in direction of arrow.

Pull off securing clip of cable at front beneath seat base.
Adjusting cable

Fit cable completely (including springs of height adjustment mechanism).

Adjust threaded sleeve -1- so that height adjustment mechanism locks -2- are actuated at the same time on both sides.
Remove height adjustment

Lock tilt lever -1- using suitable means -2- (e.g. with hook -3004-). To do this, insert tool under light tension.
Note
When removing, the tool will maintain spring pressure -arrow- for height adjustment. The threaded pins of the tool should have sufficient length to enable opening.

Remove retaining clips -1- and press out bearing pins -2-.

Open tensioning tool until spring pressure is relieved.

Remove retaining clip -3- and press out bearing pin -4-.
–
Unhook spring -1- on support bracket -2- at front in seat base frame and pull out tilt lever (including height adjustment mechanism) with spring backwards out of seat base frame.
