Self diagnosis of Climatronic
Connecting fault reader V.A.G 1551 and selecting function

→ With the ignition switched off, connect V.A.G 1551 using cable V.A.G 1551/3 to the diagnostic socket as follows:

* Is displayed alternately. Note: If the display remains blank check V.A.G 1551 voltage supply using current flow diagram. Notes:

| → Shown in display after input of address word 08: |

||

and then the display shows e.g.: The control unit identification number is displayed: |
| → Vehicles up to 07.95 |
|
||
|
|
| → Vehicles from 08.95 |
|
||

Note: |
| → If one of the fault messages opposite appears in the display, the possible causes of the fault can be printed out with the HELP key. |
|
||
| → (The ignition must be switched on!) |
|
||
|
|
| → Faults have occurred at the start of or during the programme (external sources of faults?). |
|
||
|
|
| → Check diagnostic cables and also voltage supply and earth connection. |
|
||
|
| → Shown in display after input of address word 08: |

and then the following appears in the display: The control unit identification number is displayed: |
| → Vehicles up to 07.95 |
|

|
||
