  • ◆ Fault reader V.A.G 1551 with cable V.A.G 1551/3

Work sequence

  • ‒ First print out the control unit identification and thereby the previous control unit coding as follows:
  • ‒ Connect fault reader V.A.G 1551 (V.A.G 1552) and select the engine electronics control unit with the "address word" 01
    ; Connecting fault reader and selecting engine electronics control unit.
 
→ Print out control unit identification by pressing print key of fault reader (example).

  • ‒ Press ⇒ key.
  • ‒ Press keys 0 and 6 for the function "End output" and confirm entry with the Q key.

    → Indicated on display:
    Rapid data transfer     HELP
    Select function XX
    • ‒ Switch off ignition.
    • ‒ Release and pull off control unit connector.
    • ‒ Remove old control unit.
    • ‒ Before installing the exchange control unit, note its Part No.
    • ‒ Check the previous coding and Part No. of the old control unit and code the exchange control unit according to table => Page 23-92 .
    • ‒ If the vehicle is equipped with a cruise control system (CCS) (recognised by a G before gearbox version, e.g. G00SG) then this must be activated on exchange engine control unit.

    • ‒ Match engine control unit to the electronic immobilizer => Page 23-98
