Checking idling stabilization

Functional check

  • ‒ Functional check , final control diagnosis.

Checking regulation

  • ● Coolant temperature above 80 °C (measuring value block 08, display group 01, display zone 2)
  • ● Idling check OK., checking
  • ‒ Connect fault reader V.A.G 1551 and select engine electronics control unit (address word 01); selection is carried out with engine idling.

→ Indicated on display:
Rapid data transfer     HELP
Select function XX
  • ‒ Input 08 for "Read measured value block" function and confirm with Q.
 
→ Indicated on display:
Read measured value block     HELP
Input display group number XX
  • ‒ 03 or display group 03 and confirm with Q.
 
→ Indicated on display:
(1...4 = Display zones)
Read measured value block 3     ⇒
     1     2     3     4

Note:

If something different is indicated on the display:

=> Fault reader operating instructions

  • ‒ Allow engine to idle for at least 1 minute.
  • ‒ Read off displayed figure in display zone 4.
         Specification: 2...15 % fluctuating
    (Idling speed 750...850 rpm)
  • ‒ Press ⇒ key.
  • ‒ Input 06 for "End output" and confirm with Q.

If the specification is exceeded:

  • ‒ Check air intake system for leaks
    => Page 24-54 .
  • ‒ Renew idling speed stabilization valve
    => Page 24-14 , item 21 .
  • ‒ Renew Digifant control unit (J169)
    , item 2 .
