1 - Axle beam
2 - Hexagon socket head bolt, 10 Nm
3 - Speed sensor
q   Only vehicles with ABS.
q   Insert with lubricating paste -G 000 650-.
4 - Bracket for brake hose
5 - Hexagon socket head bolt, 65 Nm
6 - Self-locking hexagon bolt, 35 Nm
q   Renew.
q   When loosening and tightening, counterhold on guide pin.
7 - Guide pin
8 - Protective cap
9 - Brake pad retaining spring
q   Always renew when changing pads.
10 - Cover ring
q   Spacer collar - cover ring to cover plate, 9.5 mm.
11 - Brake carrier with guide pins and protective caps
q   Replacement carriers are supplied assembled and with sufficient grease on guide pins.
q   If protective caps or guide pins are damaged, renew using repair kit. Use grease sachet supplied to lubricate guide pins.
12 - Brake pads
q   Thickness 12 mm.
q   Checking thickness: → Booklet27.
q   Wear limit: 7 mm (including backing plate).
q   Always renew both sides.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
13 - Hexagon bolt, 23 Nm
q   Only vehicles for USA.
14 - Vibration damper
q   Only vehicles for USA.
15 - Brake caliper
q   Repairing → Chapter.
q   Adjust handbrake cable first after repairing or renewing.
Ensure foot brake is NOT depress beforehand.
Adjust handbrake → Chapter.
16 - Outer wheel bearing
17 - Hexagon nut
q   Adjusting wheel bearing play: using a screwdriver it must be possible to move the thrust washer by finger pressure (without leverage) → Fig..
q   Secure with locking ring and new split pin.
18 - Split pin
q   Renew.
19 - Grease cap
q   Removing and installing → Fig..
20 - Locking ring
21 - Thrust plate
22 - Wheel bolt, 110 Nm
23 - Brake disc
q   Brake disc for vehicles with front-wheel drive: 226 mm Ø.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
q   Brake disc for vehicles with four-wheel drive: 239 mm Ø.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
q   Brake disc thickness (both versions): 10 mm.
q   Wear limit: 8 mm.
q   When worn, always renew both sides.
q   Brake disc assembly sequence (brake disc run-in).

24 - Inner wheel bearing
25 - Sealing ring
26 - Speed sensor rotor
q   Drive off using a drift through a wheel bolt hole.
q   Drive on using a suitable sleeve.
27 - Hexagon bolt, 60 Nm
28 - Dished spring
q   Larger contact surface faces towards cover plate.
29 - Cover plate
30 - Stub axle
31 - Handbrake cable
q   Adjust handbrake → Chapter.
32 - Spring clip
