–  Initiating immobilizer self-diagnosis → Chapter.

–  Click on “07 - Code control unit” on the display -arrow-.

The following coding variants are possible for the Passat:
l  09600 - Petrol engine, TDI and SDI engine
l  02400 - Diesel engine, except TDI and SDI engine
–  Press the corresponding keys on the number pad on the display.
–  Confirm input by pressing Q key on number block on display.
  Note
t  If the immobilizer control unit cannot detect the correct “Baud rate”, then the coding is set to the value “00000”.
t  The fault “Control unit defective” is stored in the fault memory → Anchor.
