Air Door Position Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair
Air Flow Door Motor With Back Pressure Door Motor Position Sensor

Door Motors

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B) or newer model.

Perform following work first:

-

Switch off all electrical consumers.

-

Switch off ignition.

-

Remove ignition key.

Air Flow Door Motor with Back Pressure Door Motor Position Sensor

‹› The air flow door motor (V71) and the back pressure door motor position sensor (G113) is installed only in the 2006 Passat through calendar week

21/07.

‹› In vehicles from calendar week 22/07, the fresh air/recirculating air/back pressure door motor (V425) performs the function of the fresh

air/recirculating air/back pressure door motor position sensor (G644).

‹› Air Flow Door Motor (V71) can only be removed without difficulty in "fresh air mode stop" and installed only in this position. If motor remains

standing in a different position and can no longer be moved electrically into "fresh air mode stop" position, it can only be pulled off and removed
with difficulty.

‹› Position of fresh/recirculating air door must not be changed.

Removing

-

If necessary, switch ignition on, select operating mode " Defrost" on A/C Control Head (E87) (control motor is always set to "fresh air mode"
position in this operating mode) and wait until control motor has reached its "fresh air mode" end position.

-

Switch off ignition.

-

Remove glove compartment.

-

Disengage catches - D - and - E - for bracket - A - on intake housing and remove bracket -  A -.

-

Remove Air Flow Door Motor (V113). Refer to => [ Recirculation Door Motor ]. See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Air Door/Air Door Actuator

Mark connector to Recirculation Door Motor (V113) (to rule out an interchange with connector to Air Flow Door Motor (V71)).
