Clamp drive axle in vise using protective jaw covers.

Remove clamp and slide back boots.

Thread M16/M14 section of tool into joint end until constant velocity joint is pressed off the axle shaft.

Note:

Use drift to drive off boot.

Support ball hub while pressing off.

Press joint on up to stop.

Install circlip.

Note:  Chamber on inner diameter of ball hub (splines) must face the contact shoulder on the axle shaft.

The boot is often pushed in as it is installed on the joint. Before installing the clamp on the small diameter (inside) end of the boot, lift the boot slightly
to ventilate it and equalize the pressure. This helps to prevent a vacuum from forming on the inside and drawing a fold (arrows) in the boot while
driving.
