CAUTION:  Do not mark the chain with a center punch or any similar means that could scratch or deform the metal surface.

Camshaft For Cylinders 1, 3, And 5
-

First remove bearing cover 1 and 7.

-

Loosen camshaft cover 3 and 5 alternately and diagonally.

Camshaft For Cylinders 2, 4 and 6
-

First remove bearing cover 4.

-

Loosen camshaft cover 2 and 6 alternately and diagonally.

INSTALLING

-

Lubricate running surfaces of camshaft with oil.

NOTE:
-

Note direction marking on double chain.

-

When installing the camshafts, the recesses for the camshaft sprockets -arrows- must be on top.

-

When installing bearing caps you must be able to read the bearing, cap identifications from the exhaust side of cylinder head with the arrow
pointing to the vibration damper end of engine.

Camshaft For Cylinders 1, 3 And 5

-

Tighten bearing caps 3 and 5 alternately and diagonally to 20 Nm (15 ft lb).

-

Install bearing caps 1 and 7 and also tighten to 20 Nm (15 ft lb).

Camshaft For Cylinders 2, 4 And 6

-

Tighten bearing caps 2 and 6 alternately and diagonally to 20 Nm (15 ft lb).

-

Install bearing caps 4 and also tighten to 20 Nm (15 ft lb).

-

Clean sealing surfaces for cylinder cover gasket and camshaft sprocket cover.
