Self-diagnosis for convenience system
Final control diagnosis

The components displayed in the final control diagnosis can differ depending upon the equipment fitted to the vehicle. For example on vehicles without ATA there will be no step "1" as listed in the table below.

The final control diagnosis activates the following components in the stated sequence:

Alarm horn (for anti-theft alarm)

Turn signal lights activation
(for anti-theft alarm)

- Activated continuously (lights up cont.)

Interior light, reading lights

- Interior and reading lights are activated

"Safe" LED driver's door

- "Safe" LED lights up

END

- Information: End of regular final control test

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items

  • ◆ Fault reader V.A.G 1551 or vehicle system tester V.A.G 1552 with cable V.A.G 1551/3
  • ◆ Adapter set V.A.G 1594
  • ◆ Diode test lamp V.A.G 1527
  • ◆ Current flow diagram

Work sequence

  • ‒ Connecting fault reader .
 
→ Indicated on display:
Rapid data transfer     HELP
Select function XX
  • ‒ Operate fault reader taking into account the information on the display:
  • ‒ Input 03 for "Final control diagnosis" function.
  • ‒ Switch off ignition and remove ignition key from ignition lock.
 
→ Indicated on display:
Rapid data transfer     Q
03 Final control diagnosis
  • ‒ Confirm entry with the Q key.
 
→ Indicated on display:
Final control diagnosis     ⇒

Perform press button individual tests: See table on page 01-123 .

Final control diagnosis can be terminated by pressing the "C" key.

  • ‒ Press ⇒key.

If a component does not function:

  • ‒ Continue final control diagnosis to the end.
