Removing

• ‒ → Lever off cover cap -1- at rear -arrow- and swivel by 180°. If the cover cap becomes detached from the press stud -3- it only needs to be clipped in again.
• ‒ Remove Torx bolt -2- T 20 (2.2 Nm) and pull hand crank off drive.

• ‒ → Unclip rear area of cover -2- and slide cover out of moulded headlining towards rear.
• ‒ Pull beading -1- off headlining cut-out. To assist fitting the replacement beading is supplied with a cord in the clamping channel.
• ‒ Remove moulded headlining

=> General body repairs, interior; Repair group 70; Roof trim; Removing and installing moulded headlining

• ‒ Pull water drain hoses -arrows- off the carrier unit.
• ‒ Remove drive unit.
• ‒ For easier installation remove sliding/tilting roof glass panel => Page .
• ‒ Remove hexagon bolts and lift out carrier unit from vehicle with help of second mechanic.

Note:

The carrier unit can also be removed complete.

Installing

• ‒ Place carrier unit on the rear mountings and swing upwards (the three fixing pins must locate in the mounting holes).
• ‒ Screw-on carrier unit (7.5 Nm).
