Functional check

  • ● In neutral the gear stick must be in the 3rd/4th gear gate.
  • ‒ Operate clutch.
  • ‒ Select all gears several times. Pay particular attention to the operation of the reverse gear lock.

Should a gear fail to engage smoothly after repeated selection, then continue as follows:

  • ‒ Engage 1st gear.

V34-2410
  • ‒ Remove play from selector mechanism by carefully pushing gear stick to the left.
  • ● → The distance between gear stick stop and gear stick housing must be1.0 mm to 2.0 mm (dimension -a-).
  • ‒ Should this not be the case, perform fine adjustment with 1st gear selected =>Page 34-22 .

Note:

A prerequisite for correct gear linkage adjustment is that the operating and transfer elements of the selector mechanism are in good condition.

Gearbox, clutch and clutch release mechanism must also be in good condition.

Fine adjustment

  • ● 1st gear selected.

V34-2410
  • ‒ → Loosen clamp bolt -B-.
  • ● The distance between gear stick stop and gear stick housing must be1.0 mm to 2.0 mm (dimension -a-).
  • ‒ Set to dimension -a- by turning the adjustment eccentric -A-.
  • ‒ Tighten clamp bolt -B-.
  • ‒ Fit gear stick cover.
