| q | Before installing, remove oil residue from crankshaft journal using a clean cloth. |
| q | Renewing crankshaft oil seal - belt pulley end → Chapter. |

| q | Must seat on dowel sleeves. |
| q | Removing and installing → Chapter. |
| q | Install with silicone sealant -D 176 404 A2- → Chapter. |
| 3 - | Cylinder block |
| q | Removing and installing crankshaft → Chapter. |
| q | Dismantling and assembling pistons and conrods → Chapter. |
| 4 - | Flywheel |
| q | When removing and installing flywheel, lock with counter-hold tool -3386-. |
| 5 - | 60 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°) further |
| q | Renew |
| 6 - | Intermediate plate |
| q | Must seat on dowel sleeves. |
| q | Do not damage or bend when assembling. |
| 7 - | 15 Nm |
| 8 - | Sealing flange with oil seal |
| q | Renew complete only. |
| q | Do not additionally oil or grease sealing lip of oil seal |

| q | Use protective sleeve supplied when installing. |
| q | Do not remove supporting sleeve until sealing flange has been slid onto crankshaft journal. |
