Removing
‒
First check whether a coded radio is fitted. If this is the case obtain the anti-theft coding.
‒
With ignition switched off disconnect battery earth strap.
‒
Fold rear seat forwards.
‒
Remove cover in luggage boot floor.
‒
→ Pull fuel return hose -1- and connector -2- off flange.
‒
Disconnect fuel supply pipe -3- and breather pipe -4- at hose connections.
‒
Drain fuel tank.
‒
→ Remove support bracket -1- from body.
‒
Remove all rear exhaust system mountings from body. Then lower the exhaust system slightly and secure to body with wire.
‒
Remove rear right wheel.
‒
Detach filler pipes from body.
‒
Take filler cap off filler neck and detach filler neck from cup.
‒
Remove filler neck.
‒
Now the fuel tank can be detached from body and removed together with the heat shield.
Installing
Installing is basically in the reverse order but note following:

Breather and fuel hoses are to be installed kink-free.
◆
Secure fuel hoses with screw-type clamps.
◆
Do not interchange supply and return hose (return hose blue or blue markings, supply hose black).
