• ◆ 10-222A Support bracket
• ◆ 10-222A/1 Support for support bracket
• ◆ T 10028 Counter-hold
• ◆ T 10015 Puller
• ◆ T 10016 Camshaft locking device
• ◆ T 10018 Seal extractor

• ◆ V.A.G 1331 Torque wrench (5...50 Nm)

• ◆ V.A.G 1332 Torque wrench (40...200 Nm)

Removing

• ‒ First remove both toothed belts
  .
• ‒ Turn crankshaft back slightly.

Note:

The camshaft sprockets must be locked into the camshaft housing fitting holes by bolt pins of locking device T 10016.

• ‒ Remove camshaft sprockets. Hold camshaft sprockets with locking device T 100 16 to loosen bolts.
• ‒ Unscrew inner part of oil seal extractor T 10018 two turns (approx. 3 mm) out of the outer part and lock in position with knurled screw.

• ‒ Oil threaded head of oil seal extractor.
• ‒ → Screw puller T 10018 forcibly as far as possible into oil seal.
• ‒ Loosen knurled screw and turn inner part of extractor against camshaft until oil seal has been extracted.

Installing

• ‒ Lightly oil sealing lip of oil seal.

• ‒ → Place the guide sleeve T 10015/2 onto the camshaft journal.
• ‒ Slide oil seal over the guide sleeve.
• ‒ Press oil seal in onto stop with press sleeve T 10015/1 and bolt T 10015/3.
• ‒ Fit camshaft sprockets.

Note:

Observe position of camshaft sprockets to camshaft keyways.

• ‒ Hold the respective camshaft sprocket with locking device T 10016 and tighten new bolts to
       20 Nm
  and then turn bolt
       1/4 turn (90°) further.

When installing toothed belt => Page 13-14 .

The rest of the assembly is basically a reverse of the dismantling sequence.
