Special tools and workshop equipment required

• ◆ V.A.G 1383 A Gearbox jack

Removing

• ‒ → Unbolt exhaust pipe.
• ‒ Unbolt steering box from sub-frame and e.g. secure with wire.

• ‒ → Unclip cable (arrows).

• ‒ → Separate connector for Lambda probe (arrow).

• ‒ → Unclip cable (arrow) for Lambda probe at retainer.
• ‒ Remove Lambda probe -1-.

• ‒ → Unbolt pendulum support -1- from gearbox.

• ‒ Mark installation position of bolts.

• ‒ → Remove bolts (arrows).
• ‒ Place gearbox jack V.A.G 1383 A under sub-frame.
• ‒ Remove bolts for sub-frame.
• ‒ Lower sub-frame using gearbox jack V.A.G 1383 A.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence, when doing this note the following:

Before inserting bolts for sub-frame position steering box on sub-frame and insert bolts.
