Performing self diagnosis
Erasing fault memory, ending output
  • ◆ All functions that have so far been carried out with V.A.G 1551 can now also be carried out with the tester VAS 5051.

Prerequisites:

  • ● Fault memory interrogated .

1. Erasing fault memory

  • ‒ Press ⇒key.
 
→ Indicated on display:
Rapid data transfer      HELP
Select function XX
  • ‒ Press keys 0 and 5; 05 enters the "Erase fault memory" function.
 
→ Indicated on display:
Rapid data transfer      Q

- Confirm entry with Q key

 
→ Indicated on display:
Rapid data transfer     ⇒
Fault memory is erased!
  • ‒ Press ⇒ key.
 
→ Indicated on display:
Rapid data transfer     HELP
Select function XX
 
→ Indicated on display:
Warning!
Fault memory was not interrogated.
  • ◆ Adhere exactly to test sequence: First interrogate fault memory, then erase

2. Ending output

  • ‒ Press keys -0- and -6-, this ends the output.

  • ‒ Confirm entry with Q key

Select function XX
  • ‒ Switch off ignition.
  • ‒ Disconnect connection to fault reader V.A.G 1551
  • ‒ Switch on ignition.

ABS warning lamp -K47- and brake system warning lamp -K118- must go out after approx. 2 seconds.
